The Whaley's were approved as World Baptist Fellowship missionaries to Guatemala in 1966.

Doyle was saved in his home during a revival meeting in 1951. Wanda was saved in 1962. They were married in Yuma, Arizona in 1954.

Doyle is a 1966 graduate of the Bible Baptist Seminary.

The Whaley's sending church is the Calvary Baptist Church of Grand Prairie, Texas.
