The
Staff of The Chichester Baptist Church:
Dr.
Joel D. Winters, Pastor

Pastor Joel D. Winters is the second son of the founding pastor,
Merle F. Winters. While making a profession of faith in the Lord
early in life, it was not until his early twenties that the Lord
brought him to a true life changing experience of salvation
followed by believer's baptism.
Dr. Joel Winters attended Bible Baptist Seminary (now Arlington
Baptist College) and received his Bachelor of Divinity and
Bachelor of Sacred Music degrees. He did further college
work at Philadelphia College of the Bible (now Philadelphia
Biblical University). He also earned a Doctor of Divinity
Degree through the Master's International School of Divinity.
Pastor Winters served the Chichester Baptist Church as youth
director and minister of music from 1967 to 1980. In the
early 80's, when his father became ill, and after much prayer
and seeking God's guidance, he accepted the offer to take the
leadership of the church as pastor.
Dr. Winters has served the World Baptist Fellowship as state and
quad-state chairman and vice-president of the World Baptist
Fellowship (International). He also served fourteen years
on the board of the Arlington Baptist College; six of those
years as Chairman. The loves of his life are Jesus Christ, his
wife, family, grandchildren, and the Chichester Baptist Church.
Dr.
Greg A. Cole, Assistant Pastor:
Brother
Cole has been faithfully supporting and assisting Pastor Winters since being
invited to join the church staff in 2003. Dr. Cole was born to Christian parents
who taught him about the Lord from his earliest days. As a result of their
diligence, he accepted Christ as his Savior while a young child, and was
biblically baptized in 1989. In 1996, at age 16, he surrendered to God’s call
into full-time ministry.
Brother Cole earned both a Bachelor
of Divinity and Bachelor of Religious Education Degree from the
Massillon Baptist College, in Massillon, Ohio; he graduated as
valedictorian in both graduating classes. He has also received a
Master of Religious Education Degree, and a Doctor of Pastoral
Counseling Degree from Andersonville Theological Seminary, in
Camilla, Georgia, receiving the honor of Summa Cum Laude for
both degrees.
As Assistant Pastor, Dr. Cole is
actively involved in the outreach ministries of the church, and
assists the pastor in many areas of ministry. Both he, and his
wife, Kelly-Jo, have worked together to expand and develop the
church bus ministry, have sought to foster maturity and
godliness in the young people of the church through the Teens
for Christ ministry, and have led many youngsters to the Lord,
in Primaries for Jesus, which they lead on Sunday mornings.
